Kearney's Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)
KEARNEY — At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning, three youths absconded from the Youth Rehabilitation Treatment Center (YRTC) in Kearney. YRTC immediately notified law enforcement.
YRTC staff received assistance from the Kearney Police Department, Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, and Nebraska State Patrol in apprehending all three youths. The youths were transported back to YRTC Kearney and placed in Dickson, their secure behavioral stabilization unit.
YRTC staff followed all abscond procedures which resulted in a quick apprehension ensuring the safety of the youth involved.
