Greg Sharpe, Nebraska Athletics
LINCOLN – The “Voice of the Huskers” for Nebraska Football, Baseball, and the evening Sports Nightly program Greg Sharpe announced Monday night his cancer diagnosis.
Sharpe spoke on the show about his diagnosis, stating he and his wife found out in the previous weeks that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He added that he is close to the point where treatment will be necessary, and that those treatments could affect his work with the Husker Radio Network – specifically the continuing Nebraska Baseball season.
Sharpe has been a radio announce for Nebraska Athletics since 2008, working as a senior announcer, host, and producer. Prior to joining Nebraska, Sharpe was well regarded for his role in working with Kansas State Athletics from 1996-2002 for the Wildcats football and basketball programs.
